Auto Sync of Outlook 2013 with gmail

Hi

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I have had Outlook 2013 on my computer for over 18mths and has been working perfectly.  On the weekend I decided I should empty out all of my folders in outlook of the hundreds of old emails.  Since doing this, outlook will not auto sync and will not bring in any emails.  Occasionally it will but not all of the ones that I had received on the outlook I have on my office desktop computer at work.  Was deleting all of those emails too much for it?  I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it or if it just decided to do it at that time anyway.

I am not techno savvy at all and the suggestions that I have read on other sites don't mean much to me without clear instructions.  I can't afford to take it to a tech to have a look at so I am hoping someone may be able to help or let me know if it is something I will have to take it to a tech to help me out with.

Hi,

Did you set up your Gmail account via IMAP protocol in Outlook?

Have you checked Gmail webmail interface to see whether those old emails are really been deleted?

Please press Ctrl + 6 to switch to Folders view, and then check the Sync Issues folder to see if you can find any error log.

In addition, if you are using IMAP account, we can try recreating the OST file to see the result. To do this, exit Outlook, find the OST file from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook, rename the .ost file to .old and then restart Outlook to sync a new one.

Please let me know the result.
