Auto Reply on Pudlic folders
We have a rule setup on a mail enabled public folder using the Folder Assistant. This has all been set correctly but the actual auto reply never reaches the recipient. I have tracked the message and found all replies for this are getting stuck in the "Categorizer". Now I did some investigations and found a fix which was to go into System Manager then "Internet Message Format", properties of the domain in question and tick the box in the advanced tab which was "Allow auto replies". I did all this and still the outgoing emails are getting stuck. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Mezz, what do you see in the details of stuck messages when you find them from the queue? Does the recipient address on each message look correct to you?MMilind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Check info: 1. Does the auto reply not work for both internal recipient and external recipient? 2. Does the regular mail flow work for internal and external delivery? 3. Please check stuck queues Additional Queue Information when the update mail stuck in it 4. On the problematic public folder, please create another rule for testing. For example, delete all received messages from a test user 5. Please create a test public folder, and see if the issue can be reproduced on a fresh new public folder

Hi I have checked all the things you ask and the outcome is that internal users get an automatic reply which is correct but any external email addresses their auto reply gets stuck in the queue at the point of hitting the Categorizer. Now i have researched on the web for this for hours now and done everything which people suggest and still no joy. I have also tested using a test folder and test user which gave me the same outcome. Any ideas or help would be great.

Hi Do you have checked the Auto replies setting in your exchange server for external emails? Please check the setting. Go to EMG -> Organization configuration->Remote Domain -> Right click on Default policy -> Click on properties -> Check the second tab Please let me know if this will work for you. Thanks. Okay, What happens when you enable an autoreply rule in some mailbox and send an email from external address to that mailbox? Can you please check with that? If it still fails, see if this article helps you http://www.msexchangegeek.com/?p=16MMilind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com
