Auto Forwarding what happens?

I have a question about the auto forwarding setting for remote domains. I have Exchange 2010 SP3 RU7. So, due to new security policies we disabled auto forwarding of emails to external domains. It works easy enough. However, my question  is there any where within exchange logs/event viewer where i can go to see evidence that the emails set to auto forward are actually being dropped?

So far i have found no indication that it is occurring. So, can anyone point me to a location where i can find such evidence?

Thanks in advance.

It could be that is the case in 2013. I havent tested that.

In previous versions you could also crank up diags for the IS and see those failures as well.

I assume when you test on an account no message is delivered however.

Correct no message is delivered. This is 2010 version. So, did a little more digging and what i found is that there is a receive event but, then nothing after that. See example below. Names changed to protect the innocent..

Hi,

same problem here. User configured Out of Office Reply with forwarding emails to another mailbox. 10% of forwarded mails go to blackhole... in MessageTrackingLog i only found the RECEIVE Event from MAILBOXRULE but no further Events on those missing emails.

Any suggestions? using exchange 2013 cu8 on up-to-date server 2012 r2.
