Auto Forwarding
We have a mailbox which forwards email to a mail contact. The mail contact is of course an external email address. The problem our vendor is having is that when they get a forwarded email from the mail contact it does not come from the original senders address. Is there a way with Transport Rule to deliver an external email to an external contact with the original sender information intact? Thanks, Roger

Hi Exchange Freak, In this case you can use an Exchange Transport rule to blind carbon copy this messages. This link will help you with this task. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998315.aspx Regards. Rafael Okamoto

I think you'll need to set the vendor's domain up as an external relay domain. Since you're going to be sending email that's both from and to external domains you are essentially acting as a relay. Your vendor may have to get your Exchange servers whitelisted on his side if they're checking SPF. Your Exchange servers will not be in the SPF records for the external domain the message was sent from.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Hi, By default, the original sender address must be kept since the Auto-Forward is processed under Categorizer phase. How did you configure the Auto Forwarding? Did you set it under Mail Flow Setting on the User's properties? Thanks Allen Allen Song

We are using the Auto Forward setting in Mail Flow Settings under User Properties. The original email address is kept, but you cannot do a reply to it, with a cut and paste inside the email. If I turn on Auto Forward in the global settings and setup a redirect rule (not autoforward) inside of Outlook then the message is sent correctly with the original sender listed on the email requiring no cut and paste. I need to be able to reproduce this function from the Transport Rules or another way without turning on the Auto Forward global setting.

Hi, The "Allow automatic forward" is the basic requirement to achieve auto forward. You have to do that configuration. AllenAllen Song
