Auditing usage of a Shared mailbox
Hello, Do you know if it's possible to audit the usage of a shared mailbox in Exchange 2003? We have a number of Team mailboxes where a number of users, each with their own individual active directory accounts, will access a shared mailbox. I'm trying to find out if it's possible to monitor what each user is doing whilst logged onto the mailbox. I have had a look at the Exchange message tracking logs but they don't seem to log any details of the AD account. Thanks

The only thing you can do is record the access to the mailbox. What actually happens inside the mailbox cannot be logged as Exchange doesn't have the option to log to that level. It would generate a very high amount of logs. Message tracking is for email flow, nothing to do with mailbox access. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
