Audit opened email
Hi, I was wondering if there is a way, from an Exchange administrator level, to check if a specific email has been opened, that was sent by one user to a group of other users. I know that you can audit access to messages from Exchange 2007 SP2, which is what we are running, but i need to know only for this one specific email that was sent out. More importantly i need to know if the attachment in this email was accessed? Any help would be appreciated! Cheers

The only way I know of to do this is to look in each mailbox using Outlook and even that won't tell you whether the attachment was opened, just the message. There may be a way to do this programming in CDO or the like, if properties exist that show when attachments are opened, but that would be a large amount of work just to find out, not even counting the time to write the code.
