At what extent will Exchange security policies impact my PC?
Hi, I am having difficulty finding documentation from Microsoft that will help me understand how the Exchange security policies will impact my Windows 8 PC? I understand after integrating an Exchange account within Windows 8 that the policy is pushed to my computer. I have some key questions: - which policies are supported - if a remote wipe is initiated, what is erased? (only Win8 drive or all drives/partitions on system?) - if Exchange account is removed - will the policy be deleted? If no, how can I remove the policy? And finally, if anyone has seen a link on TechNet or some other page which overviews the technical details of this feature. I'm not doing anything fishy, I just want to better prepare myself when I test and ready a deployment to my users. Thank you!

Hi, There is nothing called Exchang Security Policy but what I think you are talking about is the ActiveSync Policy. Hi DBLSVT, Any updates? Which version of Exchange server do you use? Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010? Please provide detailed information about your question. I have the same question. Running Windows 8 and I added my corporate account for the calendar feature. My work uses Exchange 2010. Basically I added the exchange server the same way I would add it on my phone with the server, domain, etc...and right now I see there is not a way to disable the password (not that I want to) but I'm curious if there is anything else a remote wipe or other security features would affect. Edit: I found an answer while searching more. Please see the following two websites: http://www.flamingkeys.com/2012/03/windows-8-mail-client-to-support-exchange-activesync-policies/ and http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/davestork/archive/2012/03/01/yes-there-is-activesync-in-windows-8.aspx From a remote wipe perspective, it appears that only the exchange account information is wiped; none of your personal files etc...
