Application Migrate error, same label but different IDs

I am attempting to migrate an application from another server. I created the application in PBM (due to errors when trying to use the generate scripts process), and now want to import the application via ppscmd. When running the import, the error " Source and Target applications have the same label but different IDs". I have tried to cut the (BizApplication)ID from the BizSystem table into the xml, then rerun, but get same error. For this error, what is the workaround to get the application loaded into PPS?

Hi,

In order to user PPSCmd.exe Migrate /Import you have to create the application in Admin console with manual execution of scripts. Please follow instructions from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb838717.aspx

It seems you are using Automatically execute application creation scripts option when creating the application.

thanks,

Hi,

Are you using the Data Migration tool from Microsoft for migration?

Please follow the information available in the blog http://performancepoint07.blogspot.com/2008/06/new-data-migration-tool-for-planning.html and also the information available in subsequent links in that blog.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Ajay

Ajay:

I was able to export the data with the migration tool, but it fails (security issues) on the import, though I have rechecked permissions. For now, am "manually" moving the fact data (imported dimensions ok). Thank you for the offer. Need to find out why I cannot create scripts successfully (Script Create): probably in another thread.

Thx again.
