Appeal for functionality to be returned to Exchange 2007 in the next Service Pack
I have many frustrations with Exchange 2007 deployment. Even after course 3938c (Updating your skills to Exchange 2007) it still frustrates me when something is not obvious or common-sense. It seems that the years of usingWizards for every function have spoilt me.Maybe it's my 14 years of Exchange experience holding me back, but I really wish we could have the following returned to us; Certificates In the Console, can we have the "Certificates" button/tab returned? A way to assign, request, view, renew and remove certificates other than using the Shell to have to hand-type a thumbprint. If we need to request and then assign SSL certificates for SMTP, POP3, IMAP, OWA, Outlook Anywhere and Unified Messaging, then surely there is a way to do it through the GUI instead of the command line? I know that the OWA certificate is requestable through IIS, but still there should be a way to see the certificate details assigned to each of the Exchange 2007 components. Office Communication Server has great wizards for certificates and is much better at dealing with SSL configurationrequirements... Restricted connections We used to be able to restrict which IP addresses was allowed to connect to the SMTP, POP3 or IMAP services. In our environment, only 2 applications needed to use POP, and we had an issue with a user emptying their mailbox because they connected with POP3 - so we only allowed permitted IP addresses to connect. The same with SMTP - we don't want to leave our Hub Transport server open to all computers in the network to use it to send emails. I know that we can enable Windows firewall, or IPsec, or use other ways - but a simple tab or button to list permitted IPs, hostnames, subnets etc that can connect to IMAP, POP, SMTP, etc. LoggingIt's easy to activate logging for SMTP - why isit not for POP3 and IMAP? Finding the .Config files and editing a XML field to "true" is not exactly difficult - but why can it not be in the GUI like other options?Outlook AnywhereWhy is activation and configuration of Outlook Anywhere done in a completely different way to other protocols? Test / -whatif button ISA 2006 SP1 has a "test" button to evaluate if the changes you are about to make will work, or if they will break something. Can we have one in Exchange 2007? I know the Shell has -whatif, but why is it not in the GUI? Memo / Administrative note Where has this gone? Drag & Drop for mailboxes Again, I know that Powershell has great functionality, but there is often no substitute for visual verification of batch operations. If there was a way to move a user from one Mailbox store to another, or to another server by drag and drop - wouldn't that be great? It is probably more difficult to do this, as there would need to be a heirarchy created in the left section of the Exchange Console to expand out servers or mailstores. Anyway, just my feedback and comments on capabilities that I believe should return to Exchange 2007. What are other people's views?

Just had another one;SMTP smart host prioritisationIt would be great to be able to prioritise the outbound traffic so that a secondary SMTP smart host could be configured, with a timeout or priority level.
