Any help with recovering corrupt PST file?

Hello guys,

I have an 5GB .PST file that is corrupted and I'm unable to recover more than half of the emails on it.

The file was created in Outlook 2010. I copied it on a flash drive, then reset my PC to factory settings (because my PC worked slowly and obviously I had many viruses and malware).

After I copied my files from the flash drive back onto my new configuration.

When I try to open my .pst file, Outlook tells me it is corrupt or cannot be opened and suggests running scanpst.exe. ScanPST could restore only half of all my emails.

Folks, any helpful ideas?

Use Scanpst.exe...

After scanpst opens do following:

1. Click Browse and browse to the location of the PST. Or paste the following line in the File name field and click Open. This will open the default PST location in the file browser.

%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

This path works in all versions of Windows if Outlook created the pst in the local application data path. If you moved the pst or Outlook 2010 created the pst file in My Documents, you'll need to click Browse.

2. Select your PST from the list (most people will have just one) click Open, then Start to begin testing the PST

When ScanPST is finished running the tests, a dialog reports the errors found. If you need to repair the PST, always make a backup or apply third party software Recovery Toolbox for Outlook https://outlook.recoverytoolbox.com/

If you are facing problem with corrupt, damaged and broken PST file, then you can make use of third party Outlook recovery tool like http://www.corruptpstfile.org which is well supported by every versions of MS Outlook and Windows OS. I have also used this software and I was really satisfied. So I would highly recommended the same.
