An remote procedure call (RPC) request to the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service failed with error 1753
I am getting this error when trying to run loadgen to create user accounts which is failing.
Exchange servers are SCC, no problems installing them. all windows 2003 R2 SP2 x64, latest patches.
Loadgen is virtual machine, windows 2003 R2 (x86). Have tried multiple loadgen machines.
DCdiag and netdiag look ok. DNS also looks ok.
All servers on the same switch so it's not a firewall issue. No errors on switch either.
Running latest version of loadgen that was release few weeks ago. Also tried older version, still no luck
Any ideas pls ?

Try cloning the admin account that you are using, log on as that user and see if it still fails.

Alternatively, assuming you are using a local profile, on the machine you're doing the admin from:
Log on using a different user with admin rights over the machine.
Delete the profile of the exchange admin account you were previously using.
Reboot the machine you have done this on (don't skip this step).
Logon as the exchange admin account you were previously using thus creating a new profile.

Dear Niamh,
Have you received any valid solution from Microsoft, I'm facing exactly the same issue, every timeone of my servicedesk staff runs an exchange shell tocarry outany exchange operation.
I do have exchange 2007 SP1 installed, and other than this issue, it is working perfectly!?
the annoying error is Event ID 2152
Process mmc.exe (PID=3928). An remote procedure call (RPC) request to the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service failed with error 1825 (Error 721 from HrGetServersForRole). Make sure that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running. In addition, make sure that the network ports that are used by RPC are not blocked by a firewall.
Thank you

Niamh,
> Have you received any valid solution from Microsoft
No but I'mfairly sureI'vefinally figured it out. Here is how to fix it without deleting user profiles anyway.
Click Start->Run, type "control keymgr.dll" andclick OK.Remove all entries thatresemble the names of Exchange serversor domain controllers in your network. If in doubt delete all of them.
The problem is that these are used as overrideson RPC connectionsestablished by anything written usingthe .NET framework. If passwords have changed since these were stored, RPC fails. This is why the usual domain/dns test tools and all existing unmanaged code that's part of W2K3 MMC snapins, reskits, etc.work just fine but the Exchange management interface andassociated tools fail.
Please let me know if this doesn't fixthe problemfor you.
