Allowing internal IP range to send email to Mailing List.
We have a exchange server with internal unix/linux hosts, those hosts use multiple mailing lists to send emails, is it possible to allow those host to send email to mailing lists in Exchange 2010. At the same time we want to check "accept from
Authenticated users only" in the mailing list so that we dont get any spam from outside.

I don't think it's feasible to try to make the "unix/linux" hosts authenticate, so the best way to do that is to add another IP address to your server that isn't exposed to the Internet for that purpose. You can also restrict it so that only the IP addresses
of the "unix/linux" hosts can send to it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

If you check the option “From authenticated users only” then it will completely block your internet emails and your user will not receive email from external
domains; to allow your Linux mail system to send email to your exchange just open your Edge Transport Management and go to Edge Transport -> Anti-spam -> IP Allow list and go to Allowed Addresses tab and add your Linux’s machine IP, now your exchange
will always accept messages from this IP.

I didn't answer the question completely. Add another IP address to the server, an IP address that isn't exposed to the Internet. Change your Default receive connector so that it's bound only to the IP address that's exposed to the Internet.
Create a new receive connector that allows relay and doesn't require authentication, bind it only to the new IP address, and configure it so that only the UNIX and Linux servers can send through it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi Oactel,
As above referred, if you check the "require that all senders are autenticated", that means only the authenticated users could send emails to the DL, because the emails from the Unix/linux server are not sent by the authenticated account, the same with the
outside emails to to the DL.
If you want to avoid the spam from outside, we could use other ways but not using the kind way.
