Allowed styles for cells

What are the allowed text when setting the cell types.  I see that 'Percent' changes the format to percentage.  What are the other cell type descriptions? I tried 'Number' but that didn't work.

Hi,

In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.

  • Which version of Excel do you use?
  • Where did you see the options to change the cell style?

As far as I know, there are two ways to assign/change the cell style/format. Please see the image below:

1) Home tab>Number group>Click the drop down arrow> You can see several cell format, such as Text/number and so on.

2)Home tab>Style group>Click the drop down arrow>You can apply several formats.

Since you said >>I tried 'Number' but that didn't work.<<, I recommend we select the cell/range which you have applied the format=>right click=>Cell format=>Check the format.

Hope it's helpful.

If I misunderstand something, please feel free let me know.
