After upgrading to CU6 for Exchange 2013, the Application event log is flooded with MSExhange Common error 106: Performance counter updating error. Counter name is Time in Resource per second, category name is MSExchange Activity Context Resources. Optional code: 2. All the components should be Active
If you find any components to be inactive then we need to activate them

All components show active.

I'm not sure if this is related, but also after the CU6 install when opening an instance of Server Manager that has the exchange server host added as a managed server the initial load of event log data from the Application log fails. Sometimes I have been able to load it by simply refreshing the node. However there has been some cases where the only way I could get all aspects of the server to load is to clear the Application log.

Additionally, every so often I am getting alerts in SCOM for "Maintenance workitem "WindowsServerRoleEndpointMaintenance" (ID: 4) has timed out." from the Exchange Health Set monitor.

I have removed and reloaded all exchange performance counters from %EXCHANGEINSTALLPATH%\Setup\Perf and I have also attempted to rebuild all performance counters with lodctr /R but neither resolved the issue.

I have already run this script to reload the performance counters. There are no errors in the setup log except for the ones about not finding the definition files in the \Perf\AMD64 directory (which loading them manually out of the \Perf directory should have resolved)

I have the exact same issue with the exact same counters.

Actually did all you did (counters reload, rebuild etc.). Im thinking it might be a certificate somewhere that isn't right. Cant find anything else really. If you ever find a solution, that would be good.

At the moment we are waiting for CU7 to see if the patch fix it.

My up-vote for the same issue. We have the same problem on a new deployment, directly Exch2013 with CU8, fresh install.

Anybody had any luck getting rid of this error?

New-PerfCounters -DefinitionFileName "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Setup\Perf\InfoWorkerMultiMailboxSearchPerformanceCounters.xml"

if it fails, that could be the problem. Mine was failing and it is due to leading and trailing spaces in the <name> fields in that XML.

I have removed those spaces and ran it again and it went through OK - so now I wait to see if the problem is fixed.

Same issue here. CU8. Reinstalled all counters, but continue to get this 106 'ad-powershell-defaultdomain' counter error. Sure would be nice to get it out of the logs!

I'm running CU9 here and still have this same issues since CU5. This error throws off our heath status in Solar Winds and it would be nice to get this resolved.
