After updating Lync2013 to Skype 2013, outlook can't be run but outlook in safe mode is fine

Dear all,

Recently we got a notice of Lync is changing to Skype for Business in our company protal so one user downloaded Skype 2013 from office365 official website then installed it but after installing it his outlook can't be run normally.

I did a remote check and delete old outlook profile then rebuild a new one but it can't work.

Then getting advice mail from office365 admin in our company, and try to disable some add-in for his outlook. But after clicking Trust Center  the error message pops up again and I can't go next. I upload the error message in attachment..

Hi,

Do you have KB2889923 installed? I noticed this issue recently that Outlook 2010 users meet the Outlook crash issue after the Lync 2013 to Skype for Business update.

Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode to see the result? Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter.

If you cannot disable COM add-ins by using the Outlook interface, you can disable the COM add-ins by using Registry Editor:

1. Start Registry Editor.

2. Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins

3. Rename the subkey under the \Addins key by appending disabled to the subkey name. For example, if a subkey is called AccessAddin.DC, rename this subkey to AccessAddin.DC-disabled.

4. Locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins

5. Rename the subkey under the \Addins key by appending disabled to the subkey name. For example, if a subkey is called UCAddin.UCAddin.1, rename the subkey to UCAddin.UCAddin.1-disabled.

6. Start Outlook.
