After a Windows Update Can't Receive Outlook 2007 Email, and Can't Restore Due to Bootstat.dat Error

After a recent Windows 7 update, noticed that I can't receive emails using Outlook 2007, but I can send emails.  When I start up Outlook, a pop-up widow opens requesting my password for my email server (Roadrunner) and keeps opening asking the same info each time I click it.

The error message (0x800CCC92) from Outlook says "your email server rejected your login" which is bogus because I logged into the sever from the internet using the same password with no problems.

In the past my solution for this type of problem was to run restore to a point before the last update.  However, I'm getting an unexpected error message from restore (0x80070057) sayinf that "system restore failed to extract the file C;\Windows\bootstat.dat from the restore point.

I tried a number of different restore points, and also had my antivirus disabled, and also ran it in safe mode.

Try to disable your anti-virus programs and Firewall to check the result.

Could you still login your Roadrunner email account through Web-based Access?

If not, please reset your password from here: http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/support/topics/internet/email-setup.html. Or directly contact to Roadrunner support.

I recommand that we may create a new profile and re-configure the Roadrunner email account again to check the result. If it's POP3 account support, please import/open the exist PST file when you setup the email account.
