Advanced find, not finding contacts from personal contacts in the "To.." menu of new e-mail

Hi,

We are using Outlook 2013 on Exchange 2010.

When we start a new message, and click on the "To.." button, we see our global address list, where we can use advanced find successfully. If we change from the GAL to the "Contacts" folder of one of my other accounts, the advanced find list only has one field to search on. This means we cannot search by e-mail address.

Here is a search I have done from the contacts folder:

I have tried switching the normal search from "Name only" to "more columns", but this also comes up with no results, like the below:

Am I missing something?

Hi,

Both the Search and Advanced Find features you described search only the display name portion of an email address. This the default behavior in Outlook when you switch to a personal contact folder. If you want to search for a contact using email address, you have to search for it using the method in your first screenshot.

Hi,

In the Business Card view, just hold Ctrl key and then left-click to select multiple contacts, and then click the Email button in the Communicate group to create a message.

If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.
