Administering Exchange from Windows Vista
I would like to know if there will be a way to run exchange system manager from windows vista. We have an Exchange 2003 server that I used to manage remotely (without using Remote Desktop) with system manager installed on my xp workstation. I now have Vista installed so that I can get ready for managing other Vista boxes on our network with our next upgrade cycle. We already have the exchange 2007 disk, but will not be upgrading to that for a while yet (need to upgrade hardware first). But I also read that you will not be able to run the manager for 2007 from Vista either. So how does MS envision managing Exchange from Vista? I can still run all of my Server 2003 Active directory management tools on the workstation. Why can't I run the Exchange manager as well?

It's just not supported on Vista. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/931903 The workaround is to use RDP to the Exchange server. Tony www.activedir.org

You can run the ESM snap-ins for ADUC, but you can't install the Exchange System Manager itself. I know, kinda stinks. Take a look at this: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=612416&SiteID=17.
