It's beena little while since I've worked with it, but you could use the Mailbox Manager to delete the messages from the mailbox. http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2005/03/21/399807.aspxTony

Hi, You could use MFCMapi to clean it up. You could download the tool from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37&displaylang=en Then you can follow this setups to clean it up: 1. Run MFCMapi.exe. 2. Click “session”àclick “log on and display store table” 3. Select the Outlook profile, as default it is “outlook”, then click “ok”, then it will pop up a new windows. 4. On the new windows double click your email address, then it will pop up a new windows. 5. On the new windows, Click “special folder”à Click “Inbox”, then it will pop up a new windows. 6. On the new windows, Right click “Inbox”à then select “open content table” Now you can see all the email, and you can use CTRL or SHIFT to delete all the mail. What about splitting the mailbox and exporting it to several pst files, either sorted by recipient or by sender? Like this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb266964(EXCHG.80).aspx You could then keep the pst files stored somewhere as a backup (which can be accessed easily with outlook), and then delete all mails in your admin mailbox and start fresh. Deleting all mail: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998579%28EXCHG.80%29.aspx (You will want to use "[-DeleteContent <SwitchParameter>]" )

Hi DennisSchulze, Exchange 2003 doesn't support Exchange Management Shell. SOSO2011, do you have any update? Hi, Considering the size of Admin mailbox which is 12GB, the best way is to split the mailbox into multiple PST's. PST with Exmerge has limit of 2GB and with Outlook it has limit of 4 GB. Option 1: ======== Use Exmerge to split the mailbox into PST's using date option. Option 2: ========= Use Outlook, drag & drop the content into multiple new PSTs.
