Address lists not updating when adding new mailbox
We recently moved from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. All mail flow and such is working fine but it came to my attention that whenever we add a newmailbox (from the exchange management console) that the person is not put in the proper address list automatically. We have to manually click on the address list under Org Config - Mailbox and click apply for them to show. Any ideas how we solve this so new mailboxes are put in the right place when we create them?

Hi, Where do you check the address list in Outlook ? If so are there any synchronisation issues ? If it is please check the following KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905813 Regards, Johan blog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

I am just going to the address book and looking at this specific post office. There is no error, it simply doesn't show the name until you hit apply through the 2007 management console.

Hi, Before going on, I would like to explain thatMicrosoft Office Outlook 2003 and 2007 uses the offline address book to provide offline access to directory information from the Global Address List (GAL). Each night(by default AM 5:00), Exchange generates new offline address book files and places them on a local share file. Then CAS picks up these files from the file share and copy them onCAS folder. Then via Web Distribution to distribute the files and be downloaded by Outlook. Now if we create a new test user account, please check whether it will be listed on GAL when Outlook are running under online mode. Additionally, level up the diagnostic logging for OAB generation: Open the Exchange Management Shell and run the cmdlet below: Set-EventLogLevel -Identity "MSExchangeSA\OAL Generator" -Level Expert Note. After you hit enter you will not see any output that indicates that the logging level has been set. Thanks Allen
