Address book problem in exchange
I'm having a problem with the Global Address book in Microsoft Exchange 2003. I have renamed a user and the new name comes up fine. However when I type the name into the 'TO:' field the right name comes up and then in the brackets after it the old accountname is shown. I have recreated the account from scratch, recreated the users outlook profile on their local machine and rebooted the exchange server but the problem persists. Any ideas? Thanks

Could it be a cached OAB that isn't rebuilding correctly at night? Does the problem still happen in OWA or in outlook not in cached mode?

Thanks for the reply I have rebuilt the OAB and outlook isnt running cache mode either. It doesnt seem to be local to any machine or usersas all users are seeing this happen.

When you recreated the users account from scratch, how did your restore mailbox data? Dialtone then RSG/exmerge?

When I delete the account I dont delete the mailbox. Then when I recreate the account I reattach the existing mailbox to the new account. The ideal situation would probably be to export the mailboxes but our mailbox sizes are massive and would take too long to export when it is easier to reattach them to a new user

well if the mailbox is the only thing you haven't recreated, it has to be the problem right? Although that doesn't add up.
