AddressRewriteEntry not working
Hello, I use Exchange 2007 and the address rewritting use to work fine (I have not set it up). But IT departement has decided to move the Exchange 2003 server onto our site (they created a virtual machine to keep the old IP). I am sorry for not being able to provide you more information but I got to deal with the problem with very little information if I could provide you further informationI will post it right away. But you might be able to help. In fact the Accepted Domain is set as External relay.. As the Exchange server has been moved internaly maybe it should be changed to Authoritative. Please find below some information I could retrieve. If you have any idea how to fix the rewrite issue or need some more info, please let me know. >Get-AcceptedDomain -Identity Company2.com | fl DomainName : Company2.com DomainType : ExternalRelay AddressBookEnabled : False Default : False AdminDisplayName : ExchangeVersion : 0.1 (8.0.535.0) Name : Company2.com DistinguishedName : CN=Company2.com,CN=Accepted Domains,CN=Transport Settings,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,CN={D73F5DC9-E1F6-47 62-84AF-85D9E7F000} Identity : Company2.com Guid : a19dcc0-ea3-481-abb9-de3cdf4eec7a ObjectCategory : CN=ms-Exch-Accepted-Domain,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,CN={D3F5DC9-E16-462-84AF-859E7F07200} ObjectClass : {top, msExchAcceptedDomain} WhenChanged : 15/04/2010 22:53:33 WhenCreated : 15/04/2010 22:53:33 OriginatingServer : localhost IsValid : True >Get-transportagent Identity Enabled Priority -------- ------- -------- Connection Filtering Agent True 1 Address Rewriting Inbound Agent False 2 Edge Rule Agent True 3 Content Filter Agent True 4 Sender Id Agent True 5 Sender Filter Agent True 6 Recipient Filter Agent True 7 Protocol Analysis Agent True 8 Attachment Filtering Agent False 9 Address Rewriting Outbound Agent True 10 F-Secure Transport Agent True 11 >Get-AddressRewriteEntry -Identity Name | fl InternalAddress : Company2.com ExternalAddress : open-groupe.com ExceptionList : {} OutboundOnly : False AdminDisplayName : ExchangeVersion : 0.1 (8.0.535.0) Name : Name DistinguishedName : CN=Name,CN=Domain Entries,CN=Address Rewrite Configuration,OU=MSExchangeGateway Identity : CN=Name,CN=Domain Entries,CN=Address Rewrite Configuration,OU=MSExchangeGateway Guid : a9a1099f-5ff5-43b3-88fe-4c74447d3c ObjectCategory : CN=ms-Exch-Address-Rewrite-Entry,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,CN={D73DC9-E16-462-84AF-85D9E07200} ObjectClass : {top, msExchAddressRewriteEntry} WhenChanged : 02/01/2010 09:41:21 WhenCreated : 02/01/2010 09:41:21 OriginatingServer : localhost IsValid : True

What do you mean that it's been moved internally? You cannot move an Exchange server into your organization that way. You should just keep everything the way it was, with the Exchange 2003 server as an external one, even if it has been physically moved. If you want to move it into your organization, then what you'll need to do is move the users' mailboxes (inter-organizationally) into your Exchange organization, whether it be to a new server or an existing one.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hello, Here I come with more information and I hope it would clarify the issue I have: The infra network has been moved which means that range network where the Exchange server used to be on another site has been kept. The AD server also has kept the same IP. All the inbound and outbound exchange/flow with that network has been authorized with our organization. The public IP of "company2" has been modified and the new one is 200.56.23.111 and is associated with the name smtp.company2.com --> Therefore, When a user from "company2" is sending an email, the rewrite function is not working anymore. However, I have changed the IP address on the send connector.
