Additional Mailbox keeps prompting for credentials

We have 2 servers running Exchange 2013.

Everything seems to be working without problems for the email associated with the Windows account (domain joined)

However if I try to add in Outlook a second account it asks for the credentials every time outlook is restarted (tested in outlook 2010 and 2013)

I also noticed that for the email associated with the windows domain account, in the Security tab, the Logon network security is set to Negotiate and the Encryption is activated.

For the other account it always reverts to Anonymous Authentication.

How can I fix this so the credentials are saved and Encryption is activated?

I think "Anonymous Authentication" is only configured in Outlook, if the Internal- and/or ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod is set to "Negotiate" for Outlook Anywhere, so pls check your settings.

Example:
Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl Name,*auth*

Hi Martina,

Thanks for your reply.

It was exactly that the problem. I changed the clientauthenticationmethod to NTLM and got rid of the problem.

we have already set NTLM on all servers 2010 and 2013.

tried internal and external client require SSL true and false.

our mailflow still points to exch 2010.

when i give 2010 mailbox full permissions on 2013 mailbox it does not as for password.

is is normal to ask password or something needs to be changed?
