Additional Domain issue
I have a client who requires email from their main domain @abc.com but then requires additional domains @def.com and @ghi.com. I have set up the additional domains using hub transport & email policy etc and added the smtp emails to the required users and they receive the emails from all domains. I need advice on how to configure Outlook 2007 or change what Im doing on Exchange 2007 so that the client can send emails using @def.com or @ghi.com and ideally that the user can see three different accounts in their Outlook as the folder rule option does not seem to work due to Exchange delivering mail to the main domain I.e. incoming email @def.com arrives in users inbox as @abc.com. Thanks in advance

One of the work around would be to create OL rules using below conditions "with specific words in the recipient's address" or "with specific words in the message header" condition. Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi Vinod, Thanks for your reply, your idea has worked for the incoming as I had not tried the header option, so thanks for the advice but I still have the issue of not being able to send or reply from the users Outlook @def account as the only options I have is in the account drop down (create new mail) it only shows @abc.com or a couple of IMAP accounts I set up bypassing exchange. Thanks again

i was just testing out the same, But it is looks to be quite difficult. i was thinking of creating contacts for those 2 domains by removiing their email addresses from mailbox but then forwarding will be an issue because you will have to give abc.com as secondary address and you cannot have more than one email id in AD if you create mail enabled contact then you dont have the forwarding option. HI,Per my knowledge you cannot have multiple MAPI accounts on the outlook. But you will able to configure multiple pop3 accounts. Please see below article.Microsoft Outlook 2003: Configuring multiple accounts?RegardsChinthaka

Hi,If you have Edge server role installed on your server and you are using exchange 2007 you can use the following command -->New-AddressRewriteEntry -name "abc.com to xyz.com" -InternalAddress mailfrom@abc.com -ExternalAddress mailfrom@xyz.com Single DomainIn this case your user have not to do anything. Only mails comming from mailfrom@abc.com will be rewritten to mailfrom@xyz.com address.Thanks.
