Adding custom field to Exchange 2003 GAL
Hello, Is it possible/recommended to add a custom field to the GAL in Exchange 2003 that could then be propagated to Outlook 2003/2007/2010 OAB? We are looking into the possibility of adding a custom field for users' Skype account name. Would these changes automatically carry over during a migration to Exchange 2010? Thank you.

I can't say what you're proposing is impossible. But I think the approach you might want to consider is to select an attribute you don't already use, and modify the Outlook addressing templates to present that attribute in a field labeled "Skype account name". -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hi Hylvp, According to your desciption, for the target, I would add the skpeuser as contacts through ADUC(with name the skpe account name and with description as "skpe account"), and then new addresslist on the exchange server, using filter as description "skpe account". Please make a test for that. About your second question you could refer to below information, that is you need convert it. http://blogs.technet.com/b/ilvancri/archive/2010/06/15/don-t-forget-to-update-your-ldap-filters-to-opath-filters-when-transitioning-from-exchange-2003-to-exchange-2010.aspx Regards!
