Adding an Exchange 2003 Front-end server
I have a single Exchange 2003 server.OWA is setup on this server. The server has a lot of other junk running on it as well (and it's a domain controller). I need to move Exchange off of this server. I just installed two new Exchange servers. My plan being to move all the mailboxes and public folders to one of them and make the other a front-end server. I have moved one mailbox over to the new back-end server. The other has the front-end server checkbox checked. Now when I go to ipaddress/exchange from a browser I can log in as the one user that has been moved and OWA works. When I log in as any other user (users still on the old server), the page cannot be displayed. During transition I need OWA to work onboth the old and new servers. Can anyone help set this up properly? Thanks, Chris

It sounds like you have done things correctly. Have you restarted the servers after the changes? Does OWA still work on the old server? Are there any other error messages in the event logs on either the front or backend boxes? Cheers Nathan

Thanks for the reply. Restarting the old server helped. Now, for accounts still on the old server, I get redirected to the OWA login page on the old server. Now I just have to figure out how to pass the credentials through. Thanks again, Chris

It has been a while since I tested this. Let me know how you get on, and if you are still not having any luck I will knock up a test lab. Cheers Nathan
