Adding a CAS array to a single CAS server enviroment
Our current environment is two mailbox servers setup in a working DAG and one CAS/Hub server. I want to get it right in my head what I need to do to obtain high availability with a second CAS/Hub Server. How I believe it works is in my current environment I need to Create second serverInstall Exchange 2010 with CAS/Hub rolesAdd NLB on old and new CAS servers with nlb name of array.domain and add both serversCreate the array on exchange using exchange.domain Clients will then connect to exchange.domain? I have only done some brief research so please forgive me if I have missed out some very important steps, this is why I am here.

FYI, Windows NLB is no longer recommended contrary to the some of TechNet documentation you can find online, see Steve post in this regard. http://www.stevieg.org/2010/11/exchange-team-no-longer-recommend-windows-nlb-for-client-access-server-load-balancing/ Now there are HLB solutions out there which are very reasonable IMO for size of your deployment, Kemp is one of them, you may want to make some research to see if that might be fit into your scenario. Trust me I have been there so many times deploying HLB is so much better, easy management etc. Good luck ocdOz Casey, Dedeal MCITP (EMA), MCITP (EA), MCITP (SA) Visit smtp25.blogspot.com Visit Telnet25.wordpress.com This posting is provided AS-IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.
