Add signature to Out of Office message
Is it possible to make Outlook/Exchange automatically add users' signatures to the end of Out of Office messages? Thanks, Gary

Do you mean digital signatures? Or images of their actual signed name?

Mike, Thanks for your reply. I mean the email signature that users have set up in Outlook which is appended to the end of all their emails. Thanks, Gary

Yes, of course. Just paste that into the Out of Office Assistant window. Am I missing something?

No, you're not missing something - I guess I didn't explain properly what I'm trying to do. If is, of course, possible to copy and paste the signature into the Out of Office message. However, because signatures are normally automatically added to new and reply messages, my staff assume that it will be to Out of Office messages. So, they just end their Out of Office message with "Kind regards", or something similar, and no name. Of course, I could just educate them all to put their name and/or copy their signature. But, if would make my life much easier if I could just turn on a property somewhere to make Outlook or Exchange automatically add their signature to Out of Office replies, in the same way as it does to new or reply mail messages.

Aha, I see. Exchange doesn't actually recognize a signature as a signature. To Exchange its just part of the message body. This means it will be unlikely that you can have any kind of automated process grab the signature file from each user's hard drive and then append it to their out of office assistant. You could append text using Exchange 2007 transport rules, but that would be incredibly labor intensive on your end. I think user education is really the best way to address this. There are many user-friendly articles (some even with voice) on the MS Office support web site.

OK, thanks, Mike. I'll have to just let all my users know about this. Just thought it was worth asking the question first, because if I could have got Exchange to pick up their email signature automatically, it would make life easier!
