If you wan to have for example: Calendar on 1st monitor and Post on 2nd one, you can use right click on folder/open in new window.
Then you have two windows to use. [Shift+Win Button+Right/Left Arrow] or using mouse you can move it do another screen.
Yes, this can be done.
This is unfortunately two years late in coming, but since this thread was one of the top Google search results when I was searching for the answer myself, I figured I'd post the solution I ultimately found in a blog post by Rob Rogers. (I'd post a link, but the forum won't allow it.)
1. In Outlook, go to File->Options, then Select "Mail" from the list on the left.
2. Click the "Desktop Alert Settings..." button under "Message arrival". This opens a dialog allowing you to set the duration and transparency of the alert. There is also a "Preview" button to test your settings.
3. Click the preview button. The alert will be displayed. While it is still visible, click and drag the bar at the top of the alert to move it to the desired location on your second monitor.
4. Click "OK" however many times to close out the open dialogs.
From now on, the alert should pop up wherever you moved it to.
