I have tried windows 2008 "netdom query fsmo". It's showing roles details below: Schema master role "pdc.mail.com" domain naming master role "windows08.mail.com" rid master role "windows08.mail.com" pdc emulater master role "windows08.mail.com" infrastructure master role "windows08.mail.com" After one time i have tried to transfer schema master role from pdc server to windows08 server it's showing error: "The current Active Directory Domain Controller is the operations master. To transfer the operations master to a different DC, you need to target Active Directory schema to that DC." In the gui where you change the schema master. The current schema master is selected by default - you should be able to select another server in this gui. Leif
