Access 2010 Database novice questions

I'm a very basic user of Access for my job and I've set up a 2010 database that has some little bugs I don't know how to fix. I'm looking for some advice if possible. Please forgive me if I seem like a complete novice and tell me to ask elsewhere if this isn't the forum to raise these questions!

1-When trying to filter in queries I am getting the message:

'Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Country Name'"

I've been onto other forums and tried all of the solutions with the long integer, making the field source name have [] but nothing seems to be working

2-In another query, when I am trying to sort/filter the available options only include a certain number of the fields ie. the table contains 55 countries, but the filter option is only bringing up 5 of them. I haven't set any criteria within the query it should pull everything through.

Again, I appreciate these must seem like very basic questions but it's frustrating the life out of me! Any advice (worded for a novice) would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi,

You came to the right forum. But in order to help you with your issue it is best if you can share your query statements here so we can examin them. Here's how you can do that:

  • Open your query in the query desugner
  • The most left button has a little black arrow on the bottom, click on that arrow
  • It will show you various options, choose SQL
  • You will now see your query as a SQL statement. Copy and paste that here

If you have any personal info in your query replace that with 'dummy' field names.
