AD account deleted, exchange 2003 mailbox was not.
I deleted an AD account from a PC that did not have exchange management tools installed, as a result it looks like the AD account was deleted but the mailbox is still visible within the exchange store. Do I just need to run the cleanup agent to get rid of the mailbox? Options to purge or reconnect the mailbox are grayed out. thanks, Dave

Running the cleanup agent will mark that mailbox as "orphaned" for a back of a better word. You can either then reconnect it to another AD account or Exchange will eventually purge it out depending on your setting on the Limits tab of the message store properties.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Thanks Mark, does the cleanup agent default to running on a certain schedule or is it a manual task that needs to be run when needed?
