ADSIedit for Vista/Win2008?
I am moving from an Excchange 2003 to 2007 environment and I am already starting to miss tools I had in E2K3. One of those tools is ADSIedit, which I am currently running from a WIndows 2003 server. Is there going to be a new version of ADSI for Vista x64 (my management workstation) or for Windows 2008 server?I guess I could always run a Windows XP VM for this purpose, but with Win XP being deprecated, it makes me wonder why this tool doesn't exist for Vista or Windws 2008.SnoBoy

Hi,I think it is available by default in Windows 2008 but need to install manually on Windows Vista. Check out below article for step by step procedure, that should help you... ;)Installing Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows Vistahttp://www.trainsignaltraining.com/windows-vista-rsat/2008-04-03/Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I tried installing that way and got a message that the update didn't apply. Then I remembered that a lot of tools are kinda hidden as "features" in the :Programs and Features" Control Panel applet. Lo and behold, there they were - including ADSIedit under Remote Server Administration Tools.SnoBoy

In Windows 2008 - Control Panel -> Turns Windows Feature On/Off -> Features -> Add -> Remote Admin Server Tools -> Select Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) Tools checkbox. This will install adsiedit.msc for you.
