ADMT users access issue
Hi all, If I use ADMT 3.0 to migrated users (user1@abc.local) to the new forest (user99@xyz.local) and also change TargetSAM. (ex: user1 to user99) Will user99 be able to access the user1 mailbox on the existing exchange server? Thank you.

Changing the SAM account name doesn't change SID history, so it should have rights. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . I just hit this issue recently. Yes you will have sid history so you will be able to open the mailbox. However you will not be able to send email. If you are on exchange 2003 have a look at the following: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Understanding-External-Associated-Account-Windows-Server-2003-Exchange-2003.html If you are on Exchange 2007 take a look at this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201694(EXCHG.80).aspx Also if you are on 2007 you will need to take a look at autodiscover as scp records and srv records are tied to AD domains and will not work. Your best bet is using DNS.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
