I do have an Exchange 2007 production. Performed several tasks including RSG, e-mail flow troubleshooting, LCR, and among others. In addition, I do have an Exchange 2003/2007 lab that I like to mess with. I do want the certifications for my own satisfaction

I have already taken 70-236 and 70-237. I am now studying for 70-238. I am reading the Microsoft press book

and believe it or not it is a great read. You have to read this two or three times but the information I have learned is great.
Many of the items are questions I have always wanted to know but did not ask and the book does a fairly decent job explaining the items.
Once I am finished reading the book in which I planned to be done in 3 weeks. I will then take the test and will have my MCITP in 2007 and then on to 2010.

I recommend playing around with the small organization, large organization and complex organization if you have Virtual machines. I have learned a great deal about AD deploying exchange in those types of environments. Most folks just cater to the environment
in which they work in rather, than going outside and examing building a resource forest and getting the Global address list to sync with each other in different forests. Grab as many white papers and blogs as you can. You just do not want to be certified paper
but be able to master the subject at hand.

Well that is interesting and maybe I need to setup a multi forest scenario. You have 4 different types of organizations and this one would be considered a complex organizations with two different forest. I would make one 2003 and the 2007 and have coexistence
between them. This is a major part of the 70-238 exam

Jose I meant to tell you that the 70-236 Microsoft Press exam book is full of errors. That is good in one odd way. If you do all the labs in the book you will see them and your third time going through the book you will really start to notice them even more
and more. The 70-236 exam to me at least was a lot of material but not that much in depth. If you do the labs in the book and ace the questions and answers that comes with the book you will do fine.

The 70-237 is much easier than 70-236 and it does not cover as nearly as the items in 70-236. There were some very tricky questions in 70-237 and I just passed by two questions unlike almost missing a perfect score by two points in the 70-236 exam.

I have taken those exams but have been fortunate that I have the real world experience (installing Exchange in a production environment, working with Active Directory, diagnosing problems, and figuring out how to install / configure Exchange for a variety
of circumstances.) I would hope that you have that advantage as well. As someone that now hires people to handle e-mail system work, I look for real hands-on experience over just the certification acronyms.

Both of those exams *are* for Exchange 2007, though. So, if you are going to do a lot of studying and prep work, you should consider studying for the E2K10 exams instead. Just my opinion...Jim McBee - Blog -
