550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired in unreachable destination queue. Reason: The mailbox recipient does not have a mailbox database
What can cause SOME messages get stuck in Unreachable Domain queue in exchange 2007. Failing messages are sent to Mail Enabled Public Folders and if I force them via EMS "Retry-Queue -Identity "EX2007\Unreachable" -Resubmit $true" They go out! if i look at the messages in public folders where messages don't get delivered to on the first try they DON’T get marked as Read is it a problem with free/busy?

So you are telling that by resubmit they are queue get pass. Why do you consider that items in mail enabled PF would be read. As per my knowledge it will not be marked as read if you resubmit the queue whether it is email item of queue for PF item.Anil

yep if i retry the queue they go to the public folder. OK if I right click on any message in the problematic Public Folder and select Mark as Read. It does not get marked. (this is in Outlook) This problem started after system state was restored on the DC

Hi, Item marked issue is looking in outlook not from Exchange side, Did you tried it looking from other outlook profile. Please see below blog for detail. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/microsoft-office/make-outlook-2007-mark-items-as-read-when-viewed-in-reading-pane/ For PF queue issue, I would suggest you to run ExBPA and queue troubleshooting agent in Exchange and see it it give any error. Please update about progress.Anil
