500 unexpected error - when accessing resource mailbox property through ECP

Dear Team,

We are on exchange 2013 CU8, We are able to login to ECP/OWA, able to open user/shared or some of resource mailbox property however few resource mailbox property unable to access through ECP  getting error "500 unexpected error" after 2/3min

Need to know is this could be the issue of permission due to unable to access the property through ECP because all these resource mailbox are in different OU.

Please suggest.

Regards

Satish D.

Hi,

Please try to move one resource mailbox to another worked to check this issue. And make sure the permissions have been configured correctly.

Hi Peter,

But we have issue with only few resource mailboxes which are located in different domain within the same forest.

However we are able to access the user mailbox property from that domain. only the difference is the OU.

Hi Lynn-Li,

Thanks for the suggestion.

We checked & found that 1 unknown SID was having Send-As permission for those resource mailbox, we removed the same but issue not resolved.

We will check by moving the resource mailbox to working OU and update.

Can you please suggest any specific permission has to check?

One more query that on these resource mailboxes we are not able to see the user logon name configured. will that create the problem of access the resource mailbox property.

Hi Satish,

Are you able to access the resource mailbox using EMShell or using OWA or Outlook for any account having mailbox permissions for it.

Get-Mailbox | ?{$_.RecipientTypeDetails -ne "UserMailbox"} | Ft Name, RecipientTypeDetails,ServerName,Database -autosize

Also look for errors in the logs of the servers involved, what you you see.

Check both Eventvwr and IIS Logs

What is the resource type room or equipment.

Hi Satish,

One of the earlier solution for EAC issue and this one as well states that Removing Account Operators SID on the AD account of the mailbox ACL, resolves the issue.

Account Operators (SID S-1-5-32-548)

Get-ADPermission -Identity "affected object" | sort user | ft user,*rights*

PowerShell to remove "Send As" permissions, similarly you can remove others.

Get-Mailbox User1 | Remove-ADPermission -User "S-1-5-32-548" -ExtendedRights "Send As"

Dear All,

Issue resolved for me after removing both SID S-1-5-32-548 & S-1-5-32-544 accounts send-as permission from affected resource mailbox.

& S-1-5-32-544 SID belongs to BUILTIN\Administrators user.

Thanks All.... :)
