2013 OneNote insert printout problem

Whenever I insert a pdf printout using 2013 onenotes, everything turned into black and white. How do I fixed this?

I tried to use the onenote app on my computer and it can inert pdf with all color images and text. I don't get why the desktop version doesn't work. Help please!

Hi,

Just for clarity. Are you inserting a .pdf file in OneNote as a printout and then the printout is in black and white? I tried this by converting a powerpoint presentation into a .pdf Had several color slides. Inserted this into OneNote and got color pages back in OneNote as well.

You can insert the same .pdf in the app with color?

FYI, same issue here.   Tried both ways: inserting pdf as an attachment, and inserting as a printout.  The attachment will launch a pdf viewer (on laptop, tablet and phone) and view in color OK; the printout is totally black and white with no options to revert to color.  Even tried right-clicking on the printout (in OneNote), and selecting the "View Original Printout" option, but that also just opens up a black and white version in the reader.  (Laptop is running Win 7 Pro; tablet and phone both 8.1 (their respective versions).  My company just upgraded to Office 2013 Pro today so this is a really fresh install.  Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry to hear you experience the same issue. Unfortunately I can not repro this issue (luckily for me...) so I can not assist you any further. I hope someone else can help you with this matter.

Ha!  Solved it.  It was SET to print to B/W all along.  To change it, pick a webpage (for example) to print.  In your printing options, select "Print to OneNote 2013."  In the next screen, look for a toggle/button/checkbox switching between printing in Color or Black & White.  Select Color.  Print to a test page somewhere in your OneNotes.  It should now show up in color.

Then, try the "insert printout" thing (the original problem asked about), and it too now inserts the printout in color.  Far out.

-------

One other thing:  for lengthy printouts, to prevent that really annoying default of printing each page to a different OneNote page ...   Go into OneNote's Settings (File-> Options -> Advanced), scroll down toward the bottom, find the Printouts section, and UN-check "print long printouts to separate pages" click OK.  Now it's all on one page.  Cool beans.

------

Wow.  My first solve.  Do I get a T-shirt or a new car or something?   ;-)
