2010 vs 2013

Hi!

Is it possible for Exchange 2010 Transport Rule to block compressed Executables like Exchange 2013 does? We created rules both in 2010 and 2013 to block executables but only 2013 can block executables even in compressed format like rar.

Thanks.

Nope, you will have to either route your messages through a 2013 server or some sort of anti-virus/spam software/appliance to be able to use that sort of functionality.

Hi,

Based on my knowledge we don't have any option to block the executable files in exchange 2010 via transport rule.

Hi,

You might consider Exchange edge server.

Attachment filtering on exchange edge server can block attachments from entering the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 organization by attachment content type or by attachment file name.
