2003 to 2010 upgrade - question on SSL cert and disjoint name space
Single forest with exchange 2003. Our company is ABC123 but we named our internal domain ABC.com cause its shorter. We get emails for both ABC.com and ABC123.com. My current old SSL cert is for MAIL.ABC123.COM. So, that is what I
am figuring for the new cert as well, just to upgrade my cert so that I can have MAIL.ABC123.com, Legacy.ABC123.com, and autodiscover.ABC123.com....
Just want to verify if this is considered a disjoint name for CAS since the main email that everyone uses is the shorter ABC.com, so that I follow the correct instructions in the migration wizard.

Hi,
If you users have @abc.com as there primarysmtp address, you should add the name autodiscover.abc.com in the certificate too.
Example:
Common Name: mail.abc123.com
SAN: mail.abc123.com,autodiscover.abc123.com,autodiscover.abc.com,legacy.abc123.com,servername.abc.com
I would like to recommend the CSR Tool that digicert has. It will help you create the certificate request.

ok, I will ask my cert company to see if they can add that one in there too
but my main question is, is this considered using a disjointed name space?
Just trying to figure out if I also need to do that portion of the deployment assistant instructions.

No, it's not considered to be a disjoint namespace.

Hi,
Autodiscover is a Exchange 2007/2010 "feature" so you need to point your A-Records for it to the Exchange 2010 Box.Martina Miskovic - http://www.nic2012.com/
