2003 to 2007 move and BES
I've got BES on a dedicated server. Has anyone seen documentation on what to do with it during a move? I'll have BB users on both platforms at the same time. I'm running BES 4.1.4 so e2k7 is fully supported (whatever that means). Thanks in advance.

At what point did you move the BesAdmin account from 2003 -> 2007. Before moving all users, after? Was it a migration all at once or staged approach? Please help!

You can move it at any time during the migration. I moved it about 1/2 way through :-)

We're running into a funky issue going from Exchange 2003 -> Ex2007. BesAdmin is still on 2003, some users are on 2007 and having issues with Out Of Office messages. Joe User can set their OOF in OWA/Outlook and it works for 15-20 minutes until the BES replicates the changes to the handheld and the Out of Office stops sending completely.

When OOF stops sending does it still show as on in outlook/owa ? Funky is definitely the right word for that.

Yes, Outlook 2003/2007 or OWA still show the OOF as enabled and set properly.

What version of BES are you on? can you tell if exchange is trying to send an OOF by using message tracking? Anything out of wack in the event viewer on the BES server? Also, did you update MAPI and CDO on the BES server? http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB14502&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=41824052&stateId=0 0 41820519

I have another client, brand new environment, BES 4.1.4 and Exchange 2007 SP1, same issue for the BES users. No OOF functionality at all!

Are you running exchange sp1 on all your boxes? I've got it on hub/cas but not yet on CCR (waiting for a window).

Did you ever fix your issue? I know this is an older post but wanted to let you know we have the same issue. From what I gather on other forums its a SP1/BES issue. RIM is working on a fix, I have no ETA though.

Yes, this is an internal RIM issue now.Exepect a request-only hotfix for 4.1.4 MR4 or wait until 4.1.5 MR1 (which will include this fix).

Hello Knightly,I am migrating users from Exchange 2003 to Exchagne 2007. BB users are there both in E2k3 and E2k7 and i have give required access and it is working fine. I am planning to move besadmin account to E2k7 , is that ok to do now. Below are the steps i am planning to use to migrate the same 1. Login to BB Server and Stop all Blackberry Enterprise Server services 2. Move the account to the new server 3. Log in to BB Server with besadmin account 4. Remove Microsoft Exchange System Manager 2000 or 2003. (A Microsoft Exchange Server installationCDis required to complete this step.) 5. Perform a search for MAPI32.dll and cdo.dll in blackberry server. 6. Rename any cdo.dll and MAPI32.dll files from the system32 folder and the program files\exchsrvr\bin folder to a .bak file extension. 7. Download ExchangeMapiCdo.EXE and install in Blackberry server, see KB12697 8. Edit MAPI Profile and type the new mailbox server 10. Restart the BB Server
