2003 Single Server with MobileAdmin Installation Issues and Active Sync Problems
We have a single 2003 SP2 installation and when I install the mobileadmin tool it creates a new stopped default website. I've looked at the metabase and the current default website is the "1" instance. I've looked at and tried all the various tips that I've found via a variety of searches without any success. I'm looking for some suggestions on getting this installed. Another issue that we are having is new user accounts that are created are unable to sync with active sync on windows mobile 5 and 6. I can sync old user accounts, but NOT newly created accounts on the same phone. It get an error 0x85010004, which seems to point to a cert issue, however I can sync old accounts on the phone without issues.Any help is appreciated.

Dear customer: From your post, I found that you posted two questions, however these two questions are unrelated. Please understand that our forum is an issue based service, meaning we usually respond to one question/issue per post. This will lessen the confusion for both of us, as well as ensure that our results are accurate and not a result of a test for a different question. This time I will focus on the activesync question. In order to better troubleshoot your issue, please provide the following information: What is your Exchange server version? Is it Exchange server 2003 or 2007? If your Exchange server is 2003, Try the following steps: 1. Delete and then re-create the partnership on the device and desktop. 2. If you are not using SSL or forms based authentciation make sure integrated authentication is checked on exchange virtual directory. 3. If you are using SSL make sure to create the new virtual directory to use integrated authentication as per KB http://support.microsoft.com/?id=817379 4. Check whether you install ISA, if so, add rule to allow Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync and check the effect. 5. Clicked on Options and deleted the Exchange folders from device and performed a soft reset. Re-entered password for device and connected to server once more. Check the effect. If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know. Rock Wang - MSFT
