I have some ancillary domains that already have their HTTP/FTP traffic routed to the primary domain using the Domain Registrar. Since that functionality isn't available to MX records, I need to have Exchange handle the redirection. Say I have Domain1.com and Domain2.com, so the specific behavior I am looking to create is: Incoming Email to user1@domain2.com => user1@domain1.com Incoming Email to user2@domain2.com => user2@domain1.com ... Now of course, the complexity comes that I want only deliverable emails forwarded. Anyone trying to email user20000@domain2.com should get a bounced email. So far, I've only found resources that make rules on a one by one basis and I was hoping there is some way to create this on the domain level where the rule is automatically handled as my users change. Hi, Its possible, but not completely as you want it. You can change the MX record to point at the primary mailserver. In the primary mailserver you add an accepted domain of type internal relay (I assume that you are using exchange 2007 or 2010). You then create a SEND connector with the address space of one of the old domains and using the old mailserver as smart-host. Now ALL emails for the old domain will be forwarded to the old server - except for users migrated to the new server having an e-mail address from the old system - they will freceive the e-mail directly. BDR's sent because an e-mail is sent to a non existing user will be generated by the old system untill you cange to accepted domain to authoritative. Leif

If there is no old mail server, could I avoid using the relay to the smart-host? These domains are just functioning as "catch-alls" so that employees will receive emails if the sender uses the wrong domain.
