All users when trying to open Macro enabled excel spreadsheets are receiving this message:

xxxxx-workpaper.xlsm is locked for editing

by 'another user'

Open 'Read-Only' or click 'Notify'....

If macro's are disabled in Excel, the file will open without this message.

Normal excel files are fine, it's only macro enabled excel files.

The files are definitely not open by any other user.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening so that users can open the files rather than opening a Read-only copy and saving another version?

Hi, no news on this topic ? I have exactly the same problem and can't find a way to fix it

From 2013 it should be fixed now...
