(MS) Outlook Email 2013 corrupt rules
My outlook 2013 email has crashed and i have lost all of my rules that i used to sort my mail. When i booted the computer back up all of my rules were corrupt in outlook. I never backed up my rules from outlook but i have backed up my emails on a .pst file. To my understanding you can still pull the rules that you have created from the backup .pst file. Is there any way that i can get my rules back?

Hello,

Yes, there is a way to get back your rules. Actually, MS Outlook rules are stored in .rwz files. So simply you have to follow the following procedure:

  1.        Go to "Start" >> "Run".
  2.        Type this command: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook.
  3.         Now you can import that file to Outlook.

Hi,

The rules are stored in your mailbox, or Outlook Data File in Outlook client.

What is the account type in your Outlook? POP3, IMAP or Exchange? If you haven't removed the account from Outlook yet, please try to run Scanpst.exe to scan and repair the .pst file to check the result:

Clark's suggestion may be helpful in some scenarios as rules can be exported and imported, but probably not helpful in this one. The user doesn't have a .rwz file to import from.
