(2007) can a mail-enabled user view a mailbox-enabled user's calendar through OWA?
... if the mailbox-enabled user has given the mail-enabled user permissions? It seems straight forward but for some reason I can't get it to work. Is there such a barrior that if you're in Exchange you are part of the family, and if you're not, even if you are in the same domain, you can't access an Excahnge user's calendar (when they have given you permissions)? Can someone help me with a few facts:What are the minimum requirements to access another user's calendar through OWA?Is this documented somewhere on MS's site? Or at least how the permissions work?Any assistance/point in the right direction would be greatly apprecciated.Thanks,--Gene

I believe there are no permisisons required except the user has to share the calendar with the Mail-Enabled user (A request from outlook while the user chooses the option "share my calendar...").- Nagesh

Hi,If you've been granted Delegate access to a folder in another user's Exchange account, you can view the folder by opening your account in OWA, and changing the URL at the top of the screen by clicking at the end of the URL and adding \otherusersaccount\otherusersfolder, substituting the other users's account name and the name of the folder that you want to open (ex. \imajhawk\calendar or \imajhawk\inbox). The other user's folder will open in a new window. You can minimize the window and open it as needed from your Taskbar. You will not be able to make changes to the other user's information in Outlook Web Access, even if you have been granted rights to make changes. Other user's folders are opened in Outlook Web Access as "read-only" by default. If you need to make changes to the other user's information, you'll need to use Outlook 2000/2002/2003 or Entourage 2004 to make those changes. Hello, and thanks for the replies. Although I don't think you got the problem I'm having. This isn't about the URL to use, or how to share a calandar.Let me explain...I have a mailbox enabled user who has given "Default" the permision "Reviewer" (a.k.a. Everyoe Read full details). With this permission, I would suspect that anyone using OWA that can authenticate to the domain, could read that person's calendar.Mailbox-enabled users can see it no problem.Mail-enabled users cannot. If I give that mail-enabled user, specifically, "Reviewer" permissions on the maibox-enabled user's calendar they still cannot see it.--Gene

Hi Gene,Same test results with yours.mailbox enabled user who has given "Default" the permision "Reviewer" ,Mail-enabled users cannot see it.But if I want to give the mail-enabled user the "Reviewer" permission directly, I got an error message: One or more users cannot be added to the folder access list. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server. So if you want to give the mail-enable user the permission to access mailbox enabled user's calendar, please use EMC to add full access permission. After that, mail-enable user can see it.Frank Wang

Isn't that giving the keys to the kingdom to visit the jester? There must be some way to do this? When I give a mail-enabled user access to a calendar specifically I don't get the error "One or more users cannot be added to the folder access list. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server."Why am I able to give access and the user is unable to utilize that access?there must be a way to do this.--Gene
