xp to win7 User Migration restore (SCCM sp2 R2)
I'm getting this error every time I'm running a "Install Exisiting image Packge" TS. I was able to fix some error on capture by removeing kb974571 and sellecting box "If computer account fails to connect to stat store, use the NA account." I'm using USMT 4 from SCCM without any custom mig files. I made some changes to restore section with no success. any suggestion would be helpful. thx! 10/7/2010 18:01 Task Sequence Engine 11135 The task sequence execution engine failed executing the action (Release User State Storage) in the group (Restore User Files and Settings) with the error code 16389 Action output: ,438) Failed to verify signature using SHA1, defaulting to MD5.. I have double check the package; however, have not put a pause or check if the actual file is being donwloaded. What would be the best way to check for that? I was getting a similar error on scan but was due to kb974571 and once I uninstalled it, I had no errors. We benfit from your skills, share them.. bring up a command prompt prior to scanstate starting, then when it starts you can cd to the c:\_smstasksequence\packages\s12000b3\x86 directory and see is the miguser.xml file present My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Hi Niall, During scan stage, all files are there; MigUser/app/system.xml are in the package. I going to try to put a pause entry before load stage of USMT at the end of the TS.We benfit from your skills, share them.. Meanings are inside people, not in words - Dr. Myles Munroe

I Comfirmed that files are downloaded successfully from DP and are present in " c:\_smstasksequence\packages\s12000b3\x86 " Any other places/logs/things I should look into? I'm new to USMT so I'm not sure where I can go from here. btw, I recreated the USMT package twice and also looked into server logs. one think I want add is that I had to select to use NAA account in order for scanstate to work meaning, computer account failed if it helps. Thanks Cesar. We benfit from your skills, share them.. Meanings are inside people, not in words - Dr. Myles Munroe

Success at last! All I did was to point the USMT package to the root of USMT folder vs USMT\x86 and that seemed to work. I'm still puzzeled about that since I would think the TS would know the direct path to the scripts but apperantly not. ready for next step, :) I hope it helps some else.We benfit from your skills, share them.. good catch, and yes with USMT 4 you need to point to the root of the USMT folder when creating the USMT package unless you are doing a workaround such as the one i use for Offline Mode in WinPE in which we specify the usmt/x86 folder. My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Thx. That offline mode is very interesting. I will look into because it may in handy any given time. Cesar AWe benfit from your skills, share them.. Meanings are inside people, not in words - Dr. Myles Munroe
