windows steady state password recovery???
I installed steady state my on friends pc, and she has now forgotten the password, so what can be done for her to get her account back, would the vista password recovery reset disc, from a usb thumb work? because the steady state has no password reset option anywhere, she can log into a very restricted guest account, but thats it, what could be done, that's hopefully not to hard to explain over the phone to do?

Hi, after checking the issue, it seems this is a general Windows password related issue. As this forum focuses on Windows SteadyState specific issues, this inquiry would best be posted to Windows Vista forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/windowsvistaitpro The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Also, for your information, I'd like to include the following article regarding the issue: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-to-do-if-you-forget-your-Windows-passwordSean Zhu - MSFT

Therefore, for password related issues, we need to contact with system support. Thank you.Sean Zhu - MSFT

HI, you may remember the wrong password or someone hack your computer and change the password. Whatever it is, you need to get access to you windows 7 now. You can make a Windows password reset disk to reset your password: 1. Login to a computer that can link to Internet. Download Windows Password Unlocker and install it on that PC. Note that: there is a .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD or a USB flash drive. 2. Get out the newly created CD/USB and insert it to the locked computer. 3. re-booted the locked computer (it's necessary for you to change your computer's Setup to make it boot from CD drive or USB drive) and then followed the process of instructions. Just a few steps, the old password was removed. 4. Setting new password. Won't do any harm to your data, only remove lost windows password before. So, easy to use, Good Luck!
