If you dont need a column, ideally you should be using a table. Can you recreate the same with a table and see if suffices your requirement?Cheers, Jason P.S. : Please click the 'Mark as Answer' button if a post solves your problem! :) Follow @de_unparagoned

i dragged a table from the tool, three empty columns initially. i am suing 2008r2 now i implemented two groups , dragged a column from data set to the row groups. the table now has 5 columns. two are grouped and three are empty. i don't want any of those empty columns. so get the error "tablix body must contain at at least one column."

Can you tell me exactly what are the groups and fields you are dragging? A screenshot also will help. If the groups and the fields are the same, then you dont need to create a group. It will automatically create the group for the fields you are dropping to the table.Cheers, Jason P.S. : Please click the 'Mark as Answer' button if a post solves your problem! :) Follow @de_unparagoned

1) Drag and drop a table (and not a matrix) from the toolbar 2) Drag and drop the 2 fields to the table. You can delete the 3 column of the table easily. This should work and I just tried it out on my system now. Let me know if you are still facing any issues after this.Cheers, Jason P.S. : Please click the 'Mark as Answer' button if a post solves your problem! :) Follow @de_unparagoned

Hi dilipkumar1, If we are using a matrix to design a report, Reporting Services doesnot allow us to delete the second column. Please see red higt light of the image below: I think that you can right-click on this column and select "Column Visibility", and then select "Hide" option for the column.
