where are the emails not sent to document library?
THe sharepoint site was down for a while. During that period, the emails sent to a document library went nowhere: not in the doc lib, and not in any folder of the email server for SharePoint on MOSS server. Any ideas? Configuration issues or SharePoint bugs? Thanks, Guangming

Hi Guangming, There is a piece of description refer to this article: http://anurasoftware.com/SPIncomingEmailSettings.aspx Monitor the email arrives the email drop folder "C:\inetpub\mailroot\drop". When the email arrives via SMTP server, an email file with extension eml should appear in this folder. Wait for a minute, the email file should disappear if the it is picked up by SharePoint Timer Service. If the email is processed successfully by the SharePoint Timer Service, the file should appear in the corresponding SharePoint document library. If the attached document doesn't show up in the document library, check the SharePoint log file under "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS" for clues. You need to check your email library in SharePoint site, and make sure that the “Save original e-mail” was enable in E-Mail Message section in the “Incoming E-Mail Settings”. The result I tested: If “Save original e-mail” was disable and SharePoint site was down for a while, then when incoming email files disappear from "C:\inetpub\mailroot\drop", they cannot be found anywhere. But if “Save original e-mail” was enable and site was down for a while, you can find the incoming emails in library when the site starts again. Thanks & Regards, Daniel
